Since the 1980s, against the background of all world religions, which provide inspiration for his motifs, the graffiti artist WON ABC has painted monumental scenes and comics interlaced with zombies, mythological figures, and hip-hop musicians. His frequently church-critical, apocalyptic scenes thematize the victory of nature over technology, of the imaginative over the functionalism of a Western world, which he sees as having been “organized to death”. Thus, WON ABC gained an international reputation within the writer scene, which has been globalized from the beginning, following spectacular art actions on four continents. After over 40 group exhibitions and a dozen solo shows, WON ABC has also served as a ghost painter, spraying in five films and TV productions, including a Tatort episode and the film Wholetrain. The two volumes Colour Kamikaze (1999/2014) and Zombie Love (2013) combine a documentary record of his work with crazy comic stories.
